For this week's blog post I decided to show what I've currently been working on for my senior thesis/portfolio.
WCSU Illustration seniors have only 7 weeks to finish 6 original pieces of art for the senior show, at the end of which gets judged by a group of professors and the Art Department Dean that handpick which pieces will be allowed to be showcased in the gallery. Many illustration students did not make the cut last year so the pressure is on for this year's students.
I initially wanted to work on something complicated which would be done completely in black and white stippling, but I had to be realistic and decided to work on an easy theme that wouldn't give me too much of a headache and that would be finished in the given time frame. The theme itself is completely unoriginal, but I believe I can make it something new by working with colored pencils, embroidery and mixing in both modern and fantasy themes.
As you've probably guessed by the title, my theme is Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.
