The Senior Thesis Exhibition was held yesterday and the amount of positive comments I got on my work was simply overwhelming. My business cards flew off of my card holder before I could save myself one, but if that means they all went to a good home, I'm not one to complain!
Last week the students brought their work to be judged and organized within the gallery, luckily we were allowed time for any last minute changes we had to make. Amongst the stark white walls of the gallery, Wind became washed out with her pastel palette, so I reworked her with purple and added longer pieces of embroidery to her face. You can sort of see the changes in the pictures, but once the exhibition is over, my professor and I are setting up a photo shoot to take professional pictures of my illustrations (finally!). Unfortunately, since I had to rework Wind, I had to ignore my blog for yet another week.
Speaking of this week, a handful of gallery students (including myself) spent hours upon hours getting the show ready for the opening night yesterday. Walls were drilled, spackled and painted. Illustrations, graphic design pieces and photography work were wired, fixed, measured and hung. We stayed right up until two hours before the show finishing the list my professor prepared for us, and by the time the show started, it's safe to say that I was down right exhausted.
I'm dying to get back into cross stitching, and since the biggest part of my senior year is now behind me, I should finally have some time to work on a few projects. :D
