This week was full of surprises:
- I received a ton of yarn from my friend Kylie! <3
- I can read Japanese crochet patterns!
- Upcoming house inspection. :(
I've been crocheting up a storm, but an unexpected email from the property manager has put a halt to all my creative thinking. For one, the inspection is on Tuesday, but this weekend is also Father's day and makes it even harder for Greg and I to have enough time to tidy everything up. Luckily, we're both extremely clean, but this house is not in a condition that I feel is suitable for an inspection (or it could just be my neat tendencies overriding any logical thinking).
Besides that anxiety fest, I worked on a few motifs to use for future projects. My favorite of the bunch are the red flowers that I finished in just a few hours. They were so fun to make and they're beautiful!

Later on I decided to challenge myself and try to work out my first diagram pattern. The Japanese pattern that I followed was for a jacket that looked to be around my skill level, and it seemed that I had enough yarn to complete the project. Unfortunately, after completing three motifs, I realized that the pattern asked for forty eight motifs, not the previously expected fourteen motifs. Since I don't have enough beige yarn for that amount of pieces, I'm simply planning on making it a table runner.
I later switched to a few simpler designs to pass some time throughout the afternoon. None of the motifs took me longer than an hour to complete, and all of them were very straightforward and relaxing to do.
All in all, it was a rather relaxing week filled with crochet and yoga. Although, I was beginning to wonder how I was going to continue crocheting with my rapidly depleting supply of yarn, but thanks to my friend Kylie and my mother-in-law, my yarn supply suddenly grew twice as large as it was before.
