Yesterday my fiancee asked me if I wanted to tag along while he worked at an abandoned house that was in the process of being converted into a holiday home. I love abandoned houses, and I love hearing the story behind why the houses were abandoned in the first place so I happily went. An hour and a back breaking car ride/hike later, we were finally at the exciting location.
The view was breathtaking, the house overlooked the ocean while it sat hidden amongst a forest that peppered the hillside. At first I couldn't relax due to my fear of spiders, but after taking a (rather quick) look around, I convinced myself that unless a wolf spider ran full speed towards me, I was a-okay.
I always enjoy accompanying my fiancee at work and I always jump on the opportunity whenever it presents itself. Not only is it a change of pace, but I can also view what he does on a day-to-day basis which is both exciting and cringe worthy depending on the location of the job.
As he was working, I started a new project with my long loom and the last two balls of yarn in my rather sad stash. My favorite scarf is seeing its last days, and I felt the need to replace it with this beautiful red chunky yarn. Did I ever mention that I love chunky yarns? Yeah, I'm obsessed. I should have enough to finish a medium sized scarf, and if I'm lucky, I'll be able to make it into an infinity scarf just like my current one.
Speaking of loom knitting, I finally finished my washcloth! It took a lot longer than expected, mostly because of all the games I've been loosing myself in (hello Wildstar and Sims 3!)

Since I don't have an iron yet, I couldn't straighten out the washcloth for the details to show properly. The washcloth has a border which makes the half basketweave pattern "pop" out and frames everything quite nicely. I'm quite happy with how this came out and I have to admit, I was quite amazed at how fast this washcloth dries my hands vs. my regular cotton ones.
I'm receiving a care package from my parents in two weeks that are full of supplies that I left in the States. I'm not really too sure what my mom packed, but I'm sure my sewing, embroidering and knitting supplies are in there. I'm so excited! I miss embroidering and cross stitching!
