A few months ago I submitted a piece to the Black and White journal that's hosted by WCSU's writing department. Usually the art department hears of the deadline a day or two before submissions are due and we never make it, but this year a few of us made it in time for the cut!
At first I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be featured in the magazine since I only submitted one piece, but lo and behold, I was there! If you'd like to see a close up of the image, please visit my art website.
A few days after my graduation, I had quite an unexpected gift waiting for me in the mail. See that little pin on my sweater? That's right, I'm officially a DMC mentor! DMC sent me a package in the mail with a few cross-stitching kits to pass around to friends and family who are interested in learning the art. The program also provides coupons and seasonal templates to spice up any sessions I decide to hold. I'm extremely excited that I already have a few candidates wanting to participate in a session, so hopefully I'll send DMC a few updates sometime soon!
Last but not least, I'm going to Puerto Rico next week with my parents. This is going to be my last vacation together with them before I marry, so here's to making it a memorable experience!

(I only had a .1 micron so pardon the thickness!)
